Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I have been neglectful of this web site, following an event on this computer, which is the only one I use to modifiy the web site. Rather a long story, but I did get a very determined outsourced tech worker to get this back on track.
Course announcements We moved the Connective Tisssue Foundations class June 6-8 to Columbia, MD. Most of the registrants were closer and would have less traffic hassle with this location- I am awaiting the exact address so I can get confirmations out. There is still space in this class. Unfortunately, I had to cancell MP1 in Eugene. Neuro 1 in Portland is also coming up in June and has room. We also have space in the Practical Integration/Hands Skills class in Spokane June 11-13 and Connective Tissue Foundations in Medford July 25-27. I added a Core Class in Seattle for July 26-28th and we will also put one in Spokane sometime in September.
Trainings with Frank are continuimg with room in the August, September and December classes. I am waiting for one person to confirm in November, and that would fill that class. Hope you are all well.
With Love and Respect, Laurie

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
There have been a few changes since the last posting. The location for the Spokane Course is not at WSU, but at a facility in Spokane Valley. The information went out in confirmation emails. I still highly recommend if you take this course that you are really up on your Circulatory Skills- both Visceral and Cranial Dynamics utilize them. There is only one more opportunity to take (or repeat) that class, and it is in Berkeley. I cannot tell you how helpful that class is as a repeat.
The July training with Frank is full. I have one spot not confirmed in November, and openings in September and December. The Fluid PressureDynamics:Visceral course in Spokane is waitlisted- if you are registered and do not plan to attend, let me know so that I can get others in. There is still room in Fluid Pressure Dynamics: Cranial.
Classes that are confirmed are BMR Medford, MP Portland.
The only Core Class that we currently have scheduled is in Houston, April 4-6, but I may add one in Medford and Seattle and reschedule the class in Virginia that I cancelled. The Denver Core Filled up well, and we hope to insert more classes in Colorado.
Hope to see you soon at a class. With Love and Respect, Laurie

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
There are a few changes on the schedule. We have added a Core class in Houston that Judy Osborne will be teaching. I am thrilled that she is back in action with us- she has been involved with plenty of action with Jewel and Joy, but we have missed her on the teaching team.
I am going to cancell the February training. I am taking it as a gift of time for Frank to work on getting the house ready to sell. We have some tutorials that are full already, and I do not expect to add more, so there really are a limited amount of slots available. May, October, and probably November are full.
We have brisk enrollment for Fluid Pressure Dynamics Visceral in Spokane and Fluid Pressure Dynamics Cranial in Portland. I do not have a waiting list yet, but expect that to happen soon. Circulatory is required for both classes, and students should have at least Neuro 1 unless coming in with a good cranial background for FPDC. The Spokane course is being held at WSU Spokane campus, for those who want to plan ahead.
We are continuing our classes in Europe. Airfare is usually very reasonable in March and November, is higher in the summer, and comes down somewhat in September. In Kronach, there is a hostel in the castle that students can stay in. Munich is more expensive, but in the past, local students have offered to take in foreign guests. We are teaching the same classes, but it is an other opportunity.
Hope to see some of you soon. With Love and Respect, Laurie

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Happy New Year!
One of my resolutions is to keep current information here. Please note that the February Connective Tissue Class in Eugene has been cancelled. I am sending out confirmations today for the Core class in Spokane and Circulatory in Moscow.
Many students have expressed an interest in the tutorials with Frank, but are unsure of how to connect with other interested students to fill a grouping. Please contact me if this is the case, and I will try to facilitate. We currently have openings in February and March.
Love and respect,
Laurie

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Frank and I would like to extend the warmest wishes for you and your families this holiday season. This year, again, we are sending a donation to Doctors without Borders in honor of our students and teachers. We hope you are able to spend time with loved ones and that you have a healthy and happy new year.
I do want to put in a plug for the early 2008 classes, especially. It’s always hard to think of 2008 when its still 2007, but time creeps up quickly, and I think it moves even faster around the holidays. The January classes are the Advanced Connective Tissue Teachers class (open to all students- call if you have questions about this), and the Core classes in Spokane. If you know of people who may be interested, or centers, schools, hospitals and clinics in that area, including Idaho, please let me know. I can send you out some flyers to post or distribute.
There is a Connective Tissue Foundations class in Eugene, the first weekend in February and a Core class in Portland the second week. I think we have little if no registration for these classes, which is typical for the holiday season, but we need to get moving on those classes, too.
Quite a few student mentioned they were interested in the trainings with Frank, but only a few have set these up. Since there are only 4 students per class, if you know dates that you are interested in, please let me know. At this point, only the May class is closed. If I do not have a full class three weeks before the schedule, the class will be cancelled. I encourage students interested in the February 13-16 or the March 12-15 classes to talk to others who might be interested in working together and get these set up. They are a great opportunity to get some excellent training which meets your particular needs.
I added a Core Class in Houston, April 3-5. If you have friends/colleagues in that area, please talk it up. I have two great teachers close by and would love to expand and give them more classes!
If you attended the Hand Skills/Practical Integration class and have had all the prerequisites (Core, BMR, MP1, CTF or FR1+FR2) but did not take the written test or had practical skills checked, let me know). I would like to get my list of Students certified at Foundation level together and would like to have it on the Web site.
Please try to use Biovalentinfo@gmail.com. The old email address gets so much spam and apparently no way to filter it, so I would like to phase it out- but I still get some emails from students on it, so I am reluctant to do so, yet. For every valid emails I get, I have about 15 junk emails, mostly pharmaceutical, Viagra-type.
Please stay well- hope to see you soon.
With Love and Respect,
Laurie

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am hoping to have this site as the best way to get updated information regarding classes. It helps that I have finally posted the schedule. I am waiting for assistance to improve the formatting, and I still need to create links to course descriptions and update course descriptions and..... so much to do!
I want to explain a few things about the coming year. You will notice, as promised, trainings with Frank. These are all 4 days long and are limited to 4 participants. They are individualized to each group. Students may attend more than one and may choose to sign up as a group for one or more trainings. There are no absolute prerequisites other than basic course material, but if students have not had most of the courses, it is recommended that they create a group with similar experience. I think this is a tremendous opportunity, but it will only work if once students make this committment that it is honored. It is difficult to determine how to work this cancellation policy if it comes up- my thought is that if all students cannot make it, and there is no substitute, we cancel the course. The truth is, that this program is designed for 4 individuals.
We have also changed the format somewhat for Core classes based on feedback and current experience. Instead of having separate 2 day and 3 day formats, each Core class will have both options. The palpation and more detailed biomechanics and other information that is more general in manual therapy will be taught on the third day. I still feel that most students should take the 3 day course. When I have taught the Advanced course, I found that most of these students did not know that information very well. I also have been to 3 day classes where students have extensive knowledge in those areas, and could have done very well with the 2 day course. We want to encourage participation in Core, because it is generally the doorway to our work, and we can hold more advanced courses as we expand our base.
I have had requests for classes in other areas and inquiries as to why the schedule is so loaded in the Northwest. I will put courses where there is an interest, and developing an interest depends largely upon word of mouth for this work. We are not interested in expanding just for the sake of having more courses- we are committed to offering this information to hungry students. The Northwest is where the practitioners have been most open about what they do, and encouraging of other practitioners to get involved. One way to get a group started is for someone to host a class in their clinic or home and rally up a group. Two of these may need to be done before we know if the interest is strong enough to sustain further classes.
I am set up to take registration for 2008. Note that some of the courses are only offered once in 2008. I encourage you to register early, but please register only if you really intend to take the course, and cancell early if you must cancell. I should not have to send out confirmations and find out that I have students who cannot attend or do not remember registering. If you do not want to receive our emails, let us know, and if you want to but do not seem to be getting them, please inform us. I do get quite a few emails back as undeliverable, and I would like to keep my addresses as current as possible.
I am teaching Advanced Connective Tissue in Albuquerque early in the year. It is the transition to other Instructors teaching the course, so I expect good suppor in terms of assistance. Also, take note of the name change for Cranial and Visceral Dynamics to Fluid Pressure Dynamics. Those are both being taught in the Northwest this year. If you are interested and do not yet have Circulatory, we have one scheduled in February in the Pullman area (Moscow, Idaho).
I am going to try to update weekly. With Love and Respect, Laurie
