Advanced Connective Tissue (ACT1) is a prerequisite class for the Mentorship Program.
Class Prerequisites: FR1 and FR2 (Connective Tissue Foundations) and Core Concepts
Course Description and Purpose: Students build on the model of Connective Tissue Regulators from Connective Tissue Series: Foundation to include specific assessment of different functional and histological types of connective tissue and the systems that influence tensions and tone in these tissues. Practitioners learn different categories of connective tissues and specific sites that can assist in the regulation of tensions in each of these tissues. Covered are intrinsic muscles, smooth muscle, deeper fascia and membranes, and muscles that function as integrators and stabilizers, rather than prime movers. Students learn to locate these regulators and how to interact with these regulators to improve posture, mobility and range of motion, decrease pain and assist in digestive health.
